The Jonathan Coelho Fund

I created The Jonathan Coelho fund in honor of my late husband Jonathan who passed away on April 22, 2020 after a courageous battle with Covid-19, he was only 32 years old. Jonathan fought for 28 days in the hospital and 20 days on a ventilator, he was so close to recovery when his body just couldn’t fight anymore.

Jonathan was the most amazing husband, best friend and father for 10 years. He loved the life we had built together, but his most cherished accomplishments were our two children Braedyn (3 ½ years old) and Penelope (2 years old). Our son Braedyn was born with several medical complexities including cerebral palsy, we took such pride in providing Braedyn with therapies 5 days a week and were dedicated to giving him the best services possible. Penelope was a complete Daddy’s girl, although she is young her world revolved around her dad, and Jonathan savored every moment he had with her.

Jonathan wanted our family to know how much we meant to him in case he didn’t make it out of the hospital.

I discovered a heartbreaking note on his phone after he passed.

“Katie you are the most beautiful caring nurturing person I’ve ever met… are truly one of a kind…..make sure you live life with happiness and that same passion that made me fall in love with you. Seeing you be the best mom to the kids is the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced,” he wrote.

“Let Braedyn know he’s my best bud and I’m proud to be his father and for all the amazing things he’s done and continues to do”.

“Let Penelope know she’s a princess and can have whatever she wants in life. I’m so lucky….”

The fund created in his honor will help provide aid to families with medically complex children. This will help provide financial assistance with medications, procedures, camps, equipment, or therapies. In addition, the Jonathan Coelho Fund will obtain medical equipment that is no longer needed from families, to redistribute to another family in need. 100% of our received donations will go to families like ours, families who are built of love, strength and devotation all of these qualities embody who my husband was.

Our goal is to make sure my husband’s legacy lives on helping families to ALWAYS BE HAPPY NO MATTER WHAT.
